You are probably wondering what this blog website is about. Let me start by introducing myself!

My name is Vaibhavi Talati and I am 22 years old. I recently graduated from Marquette University (Milwaukee, WI) and am currently pursuing my masters at DePaul University (Chicago, Illinois). My family and I currently live in the suburbs of Chicago, but we originally immigrated from India in the year 2003. My parents, from a very young age, instilled love and respect for our home country and have always made sure to help us retain our Indian culture and values despite living far from home.

TheGulabiTouch came to my mind actually a few years ago, during the time that we were planning my brother's wedding. While deciding venues, outfits, and the food choices, I quickly realized that I had a natural affinity towards the creative and innovative side of constantly wanting to learn new recipes and decorate spaces around me. Whether it was deciding the smallest decisions for my brother's wedding to helping design the custom wedding food menu, I knew I wanted to share my ideas and love for innovation with the rest of the world. The word Gulabi originates from Hindi which means pink or rosy. I thought it was an appropriate name for my blog because while I want to be modern and feminine, I hope to also incorporate my Indian roots to my content.

Hence, I finally mustered the courage to start a blog. I aim to not only talk about recipes, lifestyle choices, and fashion, but honestly, everything under the sun. I want to focus on current topics as well as, keep topics light and talk about different creative ideas per the season. I hope to connect with young professionals my age and also learn new perspectives and continue to expand my knowledge and share it with you all.
